Acknowledgement

The first poem I had ever written was on a napkin lying on a table at PIZZA HUT. I was sitting at one of the extreme corners of the eatery and it had a giant glass wall which I was resting my head on. I was looking out purposelessly and the next thing which I remember, was me with a pen scribbling and struggling for rhyming words on that piece of napkin. And believe you me, its fun to write on that soft smooth fibrous tissue with a ball pen :)

But I think it was neither the napkin nor the serene scene outside that glass wall, which made me pen down those very first lines.

Firstly, I guess, it was my schooling, where almost every teacher was a poet. And they used to shoot a few lines, of either their own or some prolific author's, while teaching in the classrooms. I still remember the occasions when we all would gather in the assembly hall and teachers would read us their inspiring lines. The silence which I could hear, every single time, between the short pause of their lines and the noise which we made clapping our palms at the commencement as well as towards the end, still resonate in my mind and it always will.

Secondly, which I feel, is because of no one other than, my loving & caring brother. He has this amazing style of reading poems with interesting hand gestures and facial expressions. He always has a few lines which echoes your current situation. You are happy , he has a line. You are in the soup, he has a line. God knows how he manages so many lines by heart .

I thank all the people who influenced me one or the other way. I would conclude with an old saying which I like the most " When life gives you lemons, make lemonade"
